The date of consummation and conclusion of a transaction, such as a financing round, in which the requisite final (executed and delivered) definitive legal documents and funds are exchanged and delivered.
At the closing of an investment transaction of a securities financing round, the company receives the funds paid for such securities and the investor receives title to the securities purchased. Not every equity financing involves formal closings.
